Bees!
Awesome, though a little eerie. Very quiet for so many bees…
From reading stuff online, I believe this is pre-swarm behavior. My neighbor has a hive that is splitting, and this is the old queen gathering her loyal workers to go start a new home (a new queen is in the old hive). I read that about 60% of the workers go away with the old queen.
I’ve occasionally thought about trying to have a hive on the property, though I’m nowhere near ready. I wonder where they’ll go?
