While working at 123 the other night, Sean heard a girl near the door ask her friend if this bar had a coat check. Do you think the reply was the least of her surprises for the evening?
(Then go on and imagine actually having a coat check at 123. The logistics of it all make me shudder.)
I have this vague memory of a cartoon from when I was little. I know I loved it, and it must have been on tv several times, since I have the sense I knew the story fairly well back then. It started with a group of men hunting deer, and a young boy with them. They see the deer and start chasing it through the woods, and the boy winds up separated from the men, but finds the deer. It’s a white deer, and it transforms into a fairy, and tells the boy that she needs his help, or needs rescued or something. I believe they were in a mushroom ring at the time. And I remember that the boy gets transported to fairyland and has some adventure and in the end winds up back in the mushroom ring just as the hunters come crashing into it (after, I’m certain, saving the day for fairy kind). So when he returns, no time has actually passed. As I said, it’s a little hazy, and I may have some details incorrect — and the bulk of the story is really his adventure, which I remember almost nothing about. Does anyone know (or have a guess) what cartoon this was?
I’d like to see it again — but my memories of it are too generic for google to be much help.

So Sean and I have been watching Battlestar Galactica, and I’m really enjoying it. We’ve been getting it from Netflix, one painful disc at a time. They leave off the last episode on the disc with the worst cliff-hangers, I’m glad I didn’t start watching it on tv where I’d actually have to wait a week or more between every episode. (And Netflixing it is good, because it makes us watch it slower than we would if we just bought it outright.) We’re almost done with season 1, and I know it’s a bit early to be making a call on it, but damn it’s a good show. The characters are awesome. I’m getting pretty tired of the cylon in the doctor’s head bit, I hope they get rid of that soon (though I doubt they will) but other than that I have little to complain about. I hope they keep it up!
(And also, I think I’ve got the LJ crossposter figured out, yay!)
