drinking stories

I was amused this morning to find this linked from somewhere on CNN.com, I think in the “Living” category:

Drinking stories that put yours to shame

I especially liked British Lord Admiral Edward Russell’s 1694 largest cocktail of all time, for which:

“A series of bartenders actually paddled around in a small wooden canoe, filling up guests’ cups. Not only that, but they had to work in 15-minute shifts to avoid being overcome by the fumes and falling overboard.”

Awesome.

school dreams

I keep having these odd dreams where I’m still in school. But I’ve been “naughty” because I haven’t been attending my classes the way I should be, and almost inevitably in these dreams I get sidetracked on my way to some class I should be attending and don’t go. I often wake up uncertain (momentarily) about whether or not I actually have classes I haven’t been attending. Anyone else have these dreams?

It’s funny, the dreams leave me with absolutely no desire to attend classes again, which is a shame as I thought I mostly enjoyed it…

music market (r)evolution

I think this is awesome. I don’t think I had any interest in this album, but I may buy it now, just to help the message. (And I’ll probably enjoy the music, too.)

Addendum: The site (http://www.inrainbows.com/) is slow and frustrating to deal with. I’ve registered (it required a cell number, to which I entered all zeros) and attempted to buy, could not enter the price of 2.50 UK I wanted to enter (it changed it to 2, and then would not accept when I tried to update it to 3). There is no obvious opt out for the radiohead updates it wants to email to you, so I used an ancillary email address instead (when I get one of these band updates, I will update to show whether there is an opt-out on the email). When I decided to go ahead and buy at 2 (which becomes 2.45 with service charge, so hey), it told me the captcha I entered was incorrect, and asked if I wanted to retry, then told me I had no items in my cart. Sigh. Am going to wait a day to see if I get a confirmation email, then *might* try again. Apparently the site is overladen. I still applaud the idea, however.
