yogurt and packaging

I’m disappointed to see that Dannon has stopped putting lids on their yogurt — it’s what often made me buy them instead of other brands. Since there was no lid and Yoplait was on sale, I wound up buying it instead. I feel slightly like a traitor.

Due to the aforementioned sale, I bought a couple of the Yoplait Light Smoothies. I find them surprisingly tasty! If you shake them enough that they are airy it’s very nice, which surprises me a bit as I wasn’t sure I liked the idea of drinking yogurt (though I love lassis, so I have no idea where I came to the conclusion that I wouldn’t like yogurt smoothies). If you don’t shake it enough it’s a little thick, but still not bad. This is my conclusion after the two smoothies I’ve had. I will be buying more, especially if I can catch them on sale. I liked the strawberry better than the peach, but I think that’s because I shook the strawberry one more.

The packaging on the smoothies is quite substantial, by the way. (And type 2 recyclable, if you do that sort of thing.) I like the idea that I could seal it up and save part for later if I wanted to, even if I rarely (read: never) do it.
