Jessica Rabbit was the surprisingly faithful wife of Roger Rabbit in the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit. She wasn’t bad, she said, “just drawn that way.” She was quite the sensation for a time, an exaggeration of the pin-up model redheads we’ve seen before. And she will do anything she has to in order to keep her rabbit husband safe.
Though her character has gotten a lot of flack for her unrealistic proportions, it seems to me the animators and writers are exaggerating her to a purpose: She’s the stereotypical red-haired bad girl, the one the hero isn’t supposed to go home with in the end. That her personality is at odds with the way she’s drawn is, after all, the point.
I keep forgetting to post about this, but it really is one of the cutest things: Big open baby mouth being pressed against a cheek, or head, or nose. It’s funny, the first time she did it (a couple or few weeks ago) I was sure it was a kiss. And she’s kept doing it, and has done it to Daddy and Grandmommy as well. One day when she did it I kissed her immediately on the cheek and she giggled and did it again. We kiss her so often I suppose it’s no surprise.
The big open drooly baby mouth is the best part: I know, it may not sound so great, but its so darn cute. She’s trying so hard, sometimes the kisses are these slow deliberate presses, sometimes quick and impulsive. One of those developmental things I’d never read about. 
Black Widow is a Russian spy in the Marvel Comics universe. Her real name was Natasha Romanoff. Though she was an enemy at times, she wound up being brought over to the good guys. Apparently she is going to play a role in the upcoming Iron Man film: Don’t worry, I left out saying anything about the character I thought would be a total spoiler (not that I would have said much more anyway). The baby is making syllable sounds, has been for about two weeks now. It’s been a lot of random sounds, often sounding like it could be dada but a little unclear: No more. Enough people have been “Was that dada?” in her hearing that now it is the main part of her repertoire.
Dadada? Ahdadada. Dada.
Adorable. Sean can’t wait until she knows what it means.
