Duplo Compared to Traditional Lego
Some of you may be wondering about the compatibility between Lego Duplo blocks and traditional Lego blocks. You’ve probably already heard they are compatible, but you’d like to know how compatible. I’ve collected a few images of our own blocks to help show you.

Lego Duplo blocks are twice the length, twice the width, and twice the height of traditional Lego (ie, Duplo blocks are 8 times the size). So one of the square traditional Lego blocks, a 2×2, fits on one post of a Duplo.

You can stack traditional Lego blocks on Duplo blocks as long as they are tall enough (no thin pieces). You can stack Duplo on traditional Lego as long as the traditional Lego is large enough to span the full width of the Duplo block (so they click together).
