Hearts in Lego Duplo

Maybe you want to give your love a unique valentine, or maybe you just need to pump a lot of blood out of your basement* – hey, I won’t judge. Whatever the reason, you’ve decided a Lego Duplo heart is for you. However, you can’t quite figure how to massage those chunky bricks into a pleasing heart shape.

Below you’ll find some inspiration. Now to be entirely clear, some of these were made with Duplo blocks and also Kid K’Nex blocks, but either way it should give you some ideas for your own heart-shaped endeavors. Click the thumbnails to embiggen.

As you can see, the blockiest of the hearts here takes some layering on the back, as the blocks are different heights. The pink-blue and multicolored heart both use rounded pieces from the Creative Cakes set as well as some small building plates from a Cars set (among others), and the small red and blue hearts owe their curves to the Kid K’Nex Sesame Street figure building sets. (The curves are from the large figure’s body, acquire an Elmo with a fully red body, such as this one, for the red curved pieces.  Blue ones come from Cookie Monster.)  Regular bricks of various sizes comprise the remainder.

*Lego Duplo and Kid K’Nex hearts not recommended for actual pumping. Also <3 Futurama.
