Six Red-Haired Couples

Y’know it’s surprisingly difficult to find couples where both the participants are redheads! In no particular order:

 

You can’t really tell it in this picture, but both Link and Zelda have a tendency toward orange hair in the original NES game. I’ve read that this was due to the system’s limited color palette, but hey, I’ll take it.

 

Jane and George Jetson are the married main couple in The Jetsons cartoon. The children still didn’t get the gene though…

 

Not a couple in terms of dating or marriage, maybe, but I always got a kick out of Animal and his red-haired dance partner in the “At the Dance” segment of The Muppet Show. She kept up well with Animal’s craziness.

 

Megara and Hercules in the Disney movie Hercules may seem a stretch when you see them together, but while he’s got the traditional cartoon orange red going, she is a subtler auburn-red.

 

Rogue and Gambit may have only hinted toward couple-hood, and may not have been as auburn to others as they always seemed to me. But at least in the ’90s’ X-Men cartoon I think it’s safe to say she and Gambit were 1) on flirtation walk and 2) redheads, so here we are.

 

It’s so nice to be able to include actual people! Willow and Oz (played by Alyson Hannigan and Seth Green) were characters in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I admit to a certain geek solidarity heartbreak over their relationship ups and downs.
